Terms of Service
Effective date: August 21, 2026
Operated by THR Tax LLC · support@thrtax.com
1. Who you are contracting with
Rachel Budget Assistant (the “Service”) is operated by THR Tax LLC (“THR Tax”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, accessing, or continuing to use the Service you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding agreement to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it current, to keep your login credentials confidential, and to notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account to the extent permitted by law.
3. What the Service does — and does not do
The Service provides budgeting, expense-tracking, financial-organization, and related software features: importing and categorizing transactions, building a monthly budget, tracking goals and sinking funds, and organizing information for tax planning.
The Service does not provide financial, investment, legal, tax, accounting, credit-repair, or fiduciary advice. It does not recommend that you buy, sell, hold, borrow, repay, or invest, and it does not guarantee savings, debt reduction, credit improvement, accuracy, or any other outcome. Everything the Service produces — benchmarks, budget suggestions, savings recommendations, safe-harbor estimates, and home office calculations — is general, educational information generated from the data you provide, and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Where the Service uses automated or AI-assisted categorization and narration, outputs may be wrong and should be reviewed by you. You are responsible for your financial decisions; consult an appropriately qualified professional for advice specific to your circumstances.
4. Connected accounts and third-party services
The Service lets you connect financial accounts through Plaid or other supported providers. By connecting an account you authorize the Service and the applicable provider to access and process the information you authorize for the features you choose to use.
Financial information obtained from third parties may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate. You should verify important balances, transactions, and account details directly with your financial institution. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and THR Tax is not responsible for third-party services, institutions, availability, data accuracy, or acts and omissions beyond our reasonable control.
5. Permitted use
Subject to these Terms, THR Tax grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for its intended purposes within the plan you have purchased. You may not:
- Use the Service unlawfully, fraudulently, or in a way that infringes others’ rights.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, accounts, systems, or data.
- Interfere with the Service’s security, operation, or availability.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, resell, or redistribute the Service, except where applicable law does not permit that restriction.
- Use automated means to access the Service except through authorized interfaces.
- Upload malware, malicious code, or content you have no right to use.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of the information and content you submit. You grant THR Tax a limited right to host, process, reproduce, transmit, and display it solely as needed to operate, secure, and support the Service in line with our Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit your content.
7. Subscriptions, purchases, and renewal
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
The plans, features, prices, currency, billing frequency, and limitations shown at checkout or on the Pricing page form part of your purchase terms. Payment, billing, applicable taxes, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are also governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms. The Discovery Unlock is a one-time charge. Plan with Rachel is billed monthly in advance and renews automatically until you cancel through the Paddle customer portal; cancellation stops future renewals and you keep access through the end of the period you have paid for. Prices, plans, and features may change, and we will give notice of material changes where required by law.
8. Trials and promotions
Trial and promotional terms are shown when offered. If a trial converts automatically to a paid subscription, the trial duration, applicable price, first billing date, and cancellation method will be disclosed before you enroll.
9. Refunds
Refunds and cancellation rights are governed by our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. Nothing in these Terms or that policy limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
10. Intellectual property
THR Tax retains all rights in the Service, including its software, design, content, the Rachel character and illustrations, and all branding. Except for the limited rights expressly granted here, no rights are granted to you.
11. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or update any portion of the Service. We work to keep it available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance; bank connections, statement parsing, and third-party data sources can fail or lag. We will use reasonable efforts to give notice when a material change is expected to affect paid access.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” THR Tax LLC disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill. Our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where the law does not allow it.
14. Indemnification
You will indemnify THR Tax against claims arising from the data you upload, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
15. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or use that could harm THR Tax, users, or third parties. On termination you may export your data for 30 days, after which it may be deleted. Termination does not eliminate payment obligations already incurred or provisions that by their nature survive.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Texas, unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the revised version here with a new effective date, and where a change is material we will provide additional notice or request acceptance where required by law.
